#black and #blue #manicure or….. #coverup

This manicure is perfect for adding a different spin on a normal French manicure, and also acts as a great cover up when the tips of your nail varnish start to chip…… Shhhhhhh! No one will ever know!

Le Tour de France GN

No one is more proud of Le Tour de France being on home soil than me. As a Yorkshire lass it has made me proud to see all the fans come out to cheer the cyclists along, and how beautiful does our scenery look?

To celebrate all that is yellow and the Le Tour de France, here at Gnome Nails we have created a simple piece of nail art.

We would also like to wish Mark Cavendish a speedy recovery.

DAY 2……Good luck to all the competitors!

#purple #hairspray #nailart

This is one style that I’ve always wanted to try but thought it looked too hard! Well, it takes a few cups of water and a few sprays of hairspray but once you’ve got the temperature correct (luke warm!), this is such an easy and very effective style to perfect. I also quite like the imperfection and difference each nail creates!!

  1. File, cut back your cuticles and put on a base coat to prepare your nails.
  2. Paint 2 coats of a white nail varnish on all nails; I used Sinful Colors in Snow Me White.
  3. Paint 3 stripes of each colour onto a sponge; I used 2 shades of purple and 1 beige.
  4. Sponge the colours onto each nail with the darkest purple at the top, repeating until the colour is darkened to your taste.
  5. Pour water (I found after a few tests this works better with luke warm water!) in a plastic cup (preferably one that you can throw away).
  6. Drop nail varnish into the cup; this only needs a couple of drops.
  7. Spray hairspray onto the nail varnish in the plastic cup; do this from a height, lightly spraying the hairspray. This should form a crackle like effect.
  8. Now dip your thumb nail flat onto the crackle effect white nail varnish in the plastic cup and slowly pull it out of the cup once it has coated the nail.
  9. Remove the excess nail varnish from around the nail.
  10. Paint a clear coat of nail varnish; I used the amazing Seche Vite!
  11. Repeat steps 5-10 on all of your nails.

Please check out their Just Giving page at http://www.justgiving.com/forsenka and donate what you can.
